Suki Sushi

Merry Christmas!! My term tests finished a week ago and I'v been really busy de-stressing myself that I forgot to update the Blog...-.-"" But i had one heck of a time. ^^v did so many memorable things with my girlfriend. Anyways, this week I had the wonderful opportunity of spending Christmas Eve at another wonderful sushi restaurant!! Yes, it has a student rate and free flow of Sashimi as part of the buffet! The timing is decently suitable for students looking for a Japanese buffet which begins after 6pm.

I wouldn't say that this place has good sashimi, but I'm quite sure u can get better quality sashimi else where. You can however order huge servings of sashimi and gorge yourself like me, or you could keep that stomach space reserved for the large variety of dishes that they have. And I do mean alot of fried stuff and interesting sushi. Do take note that anything priced @ $4.90 and below is part of the buffet. the menus have a wide range of elaborate sushies and friend stuff. But you will definitely not find any Prawn tempura that is available with the buffet. Nonetheless, the large variety of dishes will leave you spoilt for choice and maybe just craving for more..

Its Pink! Its Raw! Its tastes great with Wasabi....
Its...... SASHIMI!!!!!! ^0^v

2 things I can definitely recommend to anyone would be the Fried Shishamo and Fried Squid.

Fried Shishamo
This is definitely a must try for any fish lover and even better if you love eating fish roe. Its served with a slice of lemon which you should squeeze and drizzle the juice over the shishamo. It will blend in nicely, giving a fresh lemony taste working in unison with the lightly crisp shishamo. Do note, its crisp on the outside and soft where the fish roe is!!! Eat it hot as the texture becomes rather chewy when it cools. Still soft and creamy inside as always!!
Fried Shishamo, the fish that's always full of Roe!!!! Crisp outside, soft and creamy inside.

Fried Squid

This is similar to the one which is served at Nihon Mura. I'm quite sure its the same... But anyways. Its any squid lover's best friend ^^v Juicy and chewy on the inside and crisp on the outside.

Fried Squid...hmm tastes very similar to Nihon Mura..... my suspicions... are.... aroused......>_0

Everything else
they have is average. Their juices are tasty and go very well with the buffet, but I normally just order a cup of green tea which isn't part of the buffet. For anything else it all depends on what you're craving to put in you're gut.

This place is most convenient for students who end their lessons late and adults just looking for an average Japanese buffet with free-flow of Sashimi without the hassel of having to make reservations. You just gotta be spontaneous about coming here. The buffet timing is exclusive only to the Suki Sushi branch at Hougang only. It can be rather out of the way depending your location or which school you're at.

An interesting thing to note, this place is affiliated with Nihon Mura and Sakura chain of Japanese restaurants. Which is why I'm guessing some of their dishes are similar. But their preparation may be different. Anyways its just an assumption of mine, yet to confirm this.

McDonalds Sundaes!!!

!!HALAL_YAY!!
McDonald's

http://www.mcdonalds.com.sg/

Adults love ice-cream, kids love ice-cream, everyone loves ice-cream!! A universal dessert whose variety and ways to consume it, is as infinite as the universe. I introduce you to the very classic, simple & affordable Mcdonald's Sundae.

If you've lived through the era of "My little Pony", "He-Man", "Lamb-chop's play along" & even "Transformers". Like me, you would probably be know that back then McDonald's Sundaes had more flavors and were slightly cheaper too.

Anyways, let me take you to the main course. My classic and all time budget chocolate-sedative, The Chocolate Sundae. At a price of $1.50 each, its probably enough to satisfy any student when eaten as lunch. There's also a Strawberry Sundae too, which my girlfriend is crazy about. Its anyone's affordable guilty pleasure, especially so when you're on a diet. I'v been on a diet and used this as a substitute. I personally feel that it can be a substitute for a meal. Or if you're realli on a budget, go for the simple Ice-cream cone which costs only $0.50 But my personal advice, don't eat this daily, regularly is okay. Especially if you've watched the Docu-movie, "Super Size Me" which is about McDonald's food.

Chocolate and Strawberry Sundaes

The Chocolate Mcflurry is next on my list, a vicious and intoxicating concoction of chocolate & chocolate chips with ice-cream cone bits in alchemic proportions. As much as I'v seriously over-rated this sundae, I'v noticed a number of people having this sundae at McDonalds. So I may simply be stating the facts.... Its valued at $2.70, which i consider pricey for students. Its worth trying if you do have the money to spare >_0 Trust me on this, you won't regret it.

Chocolate Mcflurry, A guilty pleasure...
